Paul Walker's last "Fast and The Furious" film is yet to hit theaters this weekend but talks of the next installment are already circulating. Word is out that the upcoming "Fast and The Furious 7" is the beginning of a three-part story that would take the characters in other locations they have not explored before.
As the film is set to debut on the big screen on April 3, the cast of the movie have been promoting the seventh film in the franchise. Vin Diesel was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel live when he let slip that the upcoming film is not the last movie for the franchise in spite of Walker's untimely death.
Walker has been part of the cast since the first film. While his character is out, the producers are not yet ready to say goodbye to the franchise.
Diesel hinted that more things are in store for his character, Dominic Toretto, and the rest of the gang in the upcoming "Fast and The Furious" films, reported Cinema Blend.
"You know I always think of these films multiple pictures in advance. I think of them as trilogies. Kurt Russell came in for this movie, but he was really, we really hired him because of a story that follows this. That takes place in New York," the actor revealed to Jimmy Kimmel in the show.
The series, which made seven films to date, has featured numerous exotic locations all over the world. The story already brought the gang to London, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, and many more. However, they have never been to the Big Apple in all those films.
One thing that the producers of the high-octane film has been consistent about aside from the luxurious cars is that the film keeps on bringing stellar supporting actors into the movies.
Jason Statham and Kurt Russell are in the upcoming film with the latter's character seemingly extended to the next installment.
One English actress expressed her desire to join the cast of "Fast and The Furious 8" and she is no stranger to playing the villain in movies. A report in Screen Rant noted Dame Helen Mirren as one who is very keen on coming into the show.
"My great ambition is to be in the 'Fast and Furious' movie. I so want to be a mad driver in a 'Fast and Furious' movie. My claim to fame is I always do my own driving - I was on 'Top Gear,' and I did [my lap] in a very good time. I keep putting it out there, and they never ask me. I'll be in 'Fast and Furious 8,'" said the 69-year-old actress.
She added, "I have to say Vin Diesel is brilliant. I love Vin Diesel. He's a great guy, smart - I love him. It's partly because of him I'd like to be in one, but also the driving."
The people behind the movie have yet to confirm "Fast and The Furious 8."
