'Gran Turismo 7' PS4 Update & Release Date: Isle of Man's 'Mountain Course' Featured in GT7? [Rumors]

Ever since it was confirmed in 2014 that Polyphony Digital's car racing game, "Gran Turismo 7," is coming to the PlayStation 4 console, many fans of the series are eager to see what's in store. With its launched reportedly happening at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June, rumors circulated that a new course would finally be introduced into the game.

According to Master Herald, developers in Polyphony are looking to make the seventh title from the series the best one yet by incorporating new features and additional courses to make it more exciting and challenging to players.

Now, some articles claimed that the developers are considering adding the Isle of Man's Mountain Course, a 37-mile road-racing circuit used since 1911 in the Isle of Man's Tourist Trophy Race, into the game to serve as its major course.

Rumors of this addition to the game have been reported since July 2014. An article in IOM Today published on July 25, 2014 revealed that a group of employees from Sony visited the course to record images and data that would serve as the backdrop of the game.

The report prompted many followers of the game to express their desire to see the infamous course included in the game. According to the site, one fan at the GT Planet noted that while the circuit has been used primarily for motorcycle races, there is no reason that the same could not be used as a car circuit for "Gran Turismo."

The fan also added, "Imagine how cool it would be to have a huge track like this with all the mountains and forests and bridges. It would be better than the Nordschliefe track."

Should the Isle of Man Mountain Course be added in "Gran Turismo 7," it would not be the first time that the real-life racing course is used in a video game. The said track was added into the PlayStation TT race game years back.

Aside from the new course, the upcoming game also promises to deliver better graphics which would maximize the full power of the PS4. With the game coming out exclusively to the console, Polyphony Digital could pull all stops to ensure that it produces the best gameplay experience.

Standard cars would still be part of the video game but creator Kazunori Yamuchi confirmed that high end and luxury brands would also be added to allow fans a wider option.

"Gran Turismo 7" would reportedly be available in 2016.
