"Scandal" star Joe Morton, who plays the role of Rowan Pope, recently talked about his difficult relationship with daughter Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington).
In Season 4, Olivia was finally able to get rid of her father by sending him to prison for fraud. After several failed attempts at taking him down due to his involvement with B613, Olivia can finally breathe a sigh of relief. However, there are reports that Rowan will not stay in prison for a very long time. In fact, there are rumors that he will be able to free himself and he will attempt to take down his own daughter.
In a recent interview with HNGN, Morton talked about his character and Olivia's father-daughter relationship. "It's a terrible thing that if the only way your child knows that you love them is if you don't kill them. I think that's kind of where it started. He's gotten darker and darker because he's unable to reach her in the way that he would like," he said.
Meanwhile, fans are also wondering what will happen to Morton if he is sent out of prison. The actor unfortunately confirmed that he doesn't know much about his character's fate in Season 5.
"I haven't the faintest idea. I mean, we don't know. Shonda Rhimes doesn't let us know until we actually sit down at a table read," he said.
In other news, there are also speculations that Huck (Guillermo Diaz) will be working with Rowan now that the former has already betrayed Olivia. In previous seasons, Huck has been the most loyal Gladiator, so his recent betrayal will definitely impact him negatively, according to Melty.
However, just like Morton, Diaz also doesn't know much about the future of Huck, but he previously teased the possibility of his character being killed off in Season 5.
"Scandal" Season 5 will premiere on ABC in the fall.
