'American Horror Story' Season 5 Hotel' Cast Update: Lily Rabe Returns As A Serial Killer; Will Emma Roberts Return Too?

Another alum returns for "American Horror Story" Season 5. According to Entertainment Weekly, Lily Rabe will be appearing in "American Horror Story: Hotel" as a serial killer. With more and more characters being added to the show, it seems like this will be the biggest season yet.

Rabe has appeared on all four seasons of the horror anthology. In the last season, "American Horror Story: Freak Show," she appeared as her "Asylum" character, Sister Mary Eunice, in a flashback that involved Pepper, played by Naomi Grossman. In Season 1, "Murder House," Rabe played the mother/ghost named Nora Montgomery. In Season 3, "Coven," she was the hippie/witch named Misty Day.

Her appearance in "Freak Show" as a character from the previous seasons was the first time a previous character appeared in a current season. This led to theories that all "American Horror Story" seasons are somehow connected. In the recently held San Diego Comic-Con, show creator Ryan Murphy revealed that there will be several things that will connect the upcoming season with the previous seasons.

Rabe will be joining other "American Horror Story" cast members such as Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Chloe Sevigny, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, and Wes Bentley. She will also be working with some of the newcomers like Lady Gaga and Max Greenfield.

Although it was already confirmed that Jessica Lange won't be part of the current season, some fans are also wondering if Emma Roberts will be back to the show even though she's already part of Murphy's "Scream Queens." According to Den of Geek, Murphy confirmed in an interview that the actress might still appear in a few episodes of the upcoming season. He added that she and Peters will have something great to offer their fans in the end of Season 5 of the show. Fans are reportedly intrigued by this news since it was known that Roberts and Peters were formerly engaged and decided to break things off earlier this year.

As of writing, the show is still in production. "American Horror Story: Hotel" Season 5 will air on Fox this October.
