Fans of the Mikaelsons and Kol specifically will see more of the sire line in the upcoming third season of "The Originals." According to the show's creators, the Original vampires will be back and their story will be told 10 years after their transformation. This means that actor Nathaniel Buzolic, who plays the role of Kol, will be back in a series of flashbacks.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Michael Narducci said, "We talked a lot about how the Mikaelsons have been around for 1,000 years, and somewhere along the way, they probably turned a bunch of people into vampires. Those vampires know that if an Original dies, as we saw with Finn and as we saw with Kol, an entire sire line will be wiped off."
Meanwhile, according to Latin Post, Hayley and Klaus will go through a custody battle in Season 4 over their child Hope. Julie Plec, one of the creators of the show, confirmed the news.
"There is, in fact, a custody fight early on in the season that turns violent," she said. However, Plec did not provide more details about the encounter and instead encouraged fans to wait until Season 4 premieres in the fall.
In other news, Cartermatt noted that Freya will have more parts in the upcoming season. According to the publication, there is also a chance that Freya will help take care of Hope especially in the midst of the latter's custody battle.
Meanwhile, there are some speculations that a crossover between "The Originals" and "The Vampire Diaries (TVD)" will take place this season. If this were to hold true, the big move could benefit "TVD" more especially now that their lead star Nina Dobrev is no longer part of the series.
"The Originals" will premiere on the CW this coming October.
