Mary Lee South, also known as Tom Cruise's mother, has been reported to be missing since April. Her last known whereabouts were at her new retirement home in Belmont Village in Hollywood Heights, which is very near the Scientology Headquarters.
Radar Online reports that her move was way back in November, yet news about her current location hasn't sprung out since. Her apartment has reportedly been empty, leading to speculations that she might have secretly died. However, no death certificate has been filed about the alleged death.
The National Enquirer reported first that Tom Cruise's mother was last spotted on April 5 at a brunch at the Celebrity Centre of Scientology in Los Angeles, but the report has been taken down as of late. Esquire, however, has reported the same piece of news as well.
Speculations about Mary's current state have been up in the air, from the church of Scientology kidnapping her due to allegations that she wants to leave the church, to her "secretly passing away" at the age of 78. Meanwhile, there are also speculations that Mary Lee South might not be missing at all, and she might just be staying under the radar.
Tom Cruise's cold treatment towards his dying step-dad also made news recently. It has been reported that his refusal to join Scientology has been the main reason for Cruise to shut him out. Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that the "Mission Impossible" actor and his mother didn't attend his funeral back in July.
The family's alleged fallout started back in 2006 when Mary Lee South started to get into Scientology in a major way. Back in 2003, Cruise and his dad were still in very good terms when the actor came to his aide when he suffered from renal failure.
