'The Blacklist' Season 3 Release Date & Spoilers: Liz' Real Connection With Red to be Revealed, Character Faces Tough Decisions While On The Run

When "The Blacklist" returns for Season 3, Liz (Meghan Boone) and Red (James Spader) will be part of the FBI's most wanted list. This happens after Liz murders Tom Connolly (Reed Birney) in Season 2.

According to Christian Today, executive producer Jon Bokenkamp said in an interview that Liz and Red's first objective is to get out of Washington, D.C.

To confuse the FBA, Liz changes her look, and pictures of a blonde Liz have now circulated online. Reports added that her new look will also make Liz realize something about her identity. Bokenkamp revealed that Liz will realize that she looks like her mother.

In the previous season, it was revealed that Liz's real name is Masha Rostova. It was earlier reported that she killed her abusive father, and her mother's name was reported to be Katarina Rostova who also has some kind of ties with Red. Many speculated that this connection might reveal that Red is Liz's real father.

According to MNR Daily, Bokenkamp said that with the Season 2 revelations, Liz will try to come to terms with her past and the fact that she is Russian; it will reportedly play a key role for her survival. He added that there is a certain "criminal instinct" that Liz is trying to run from and she is going to face tough decisions as to how she can handle her current situation. The EP explained that Season 3 will feature a fugitive story and also the backstory which surrounds Liz and her real connection with Red.

As the show returns, new characters will also appear in Season 3. Aside from hiding from the FBI, it was reported that Liz and Red will be facing a new villain named Mr. Solomon. The character was confirmed to be played by "X-Men: First Class" star Edi Gathegi.

"The Blacklist" Season 3 will air on NBC on October 1.
