'PewDiePie' News: YouTube Sensation Tops ‘Forbes’’ List of Highest Earning YouTube Stars

Youtube is not just for play anymore. As most of the stars in the largest streaming website started earning their millions of dollars, YouTube has become one of the platforms for actors, singers and performers to showcase their talents and make a living.

The top ten list is composed of 13 people that has a combined earnings of $54 million.

Forbes posted, "The list measures earnings before subtracting management fees and taxes. Our figures are based on data from Nielsen, IMDB and other sources, as well as on interviews with agents, managers, lawyers, industry insiders and the stars themselves."

Felix Kjellberg in real life, or much known as PewDiePie tops the list with a $12 million pretax earnings and astounding 40 million subscribers. He is known for making commentaries as he plays video games. With his large number of following, advertisers are willing to pay him to have their products featured by him.

Coming in second and earning $8.5 million are comedy duo Smosh, Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, and Fine Brothers, Benny and Rafi Fine.

Violinist Lindsey Sterling comes in fourth with whopping $6 million earnings. Fifth place was garnered by $4.5-million worth Rhett and Link, Rhett McLaughlin and Charles Lincoln Neal III, and video game commentator Olajide Olatunji, known as KSI.

Michelle Phan, the beauty guru and makeup artist, come in seventh at $3 million. The eight slot, to complete the list, was a three-way tie of performers earning $2.5 million which is shared by Lilly Singh, or "Superwoman;" prankster Roman Atwood; and Chef Rosanna Pansino.

The list of Forbes' top 10 will be included in its November 2 issue which will include the much awaited list of billionaires in the world.

YouTube is not just making a name for itself, but also for its users.
