Former Ice Hockey Player Chris Chelios Puts Malibu Beach House Up For Rent

Former American ice hockey player and recently appointed Fox Sports 1 television analyst Chris Chelios has put his Malibu beach house up for rent for $25,000 a month.

The beautiful property is located in Paradise Cove, a sandy oasis known for its celebrity pedigree. According to the listing, the former Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings star is asking $40,000 a month for the months of June, July and August. However, the better deal would be renting the house on a long term basis, during which, the rent would fall down to $25,000 a month.

The house covers an area of 3,800 square feet and includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The property also includes a detached guest house, perfect for beach activity with numerous decks, a rooftop patio and a Jacuzzi.

The listing reads:

Unobstructed ocean views from Point Dume to Palos Verdes. This is the best location in Malibu within the prestigious Paradise Cove area with the sandiest beach. Located behind gates on the sand with a main house and a detached guest house.

Earlier this month, Fox Sports 1 appointed the former hockey player as a television analyst for the channel's hockey coverage in Sochi, Russia. According to Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch, Chelios will "work through the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs and will have an in-home camera when breaking news occurs."

Critics are worried that Chelios may land himself in some trouble because of his "blunt" nature of expressing strong opinions but Chelios says he has that sorted.

"I talked about that with the people from Fox," USA Today quoted him as saying. "I'm going to leave it up to them. I can sit on the fence, I can be edgy. I think I can be charismatic. I'm going to start doing some telecasting from the house two or three months ahead of time."
