"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 star Ian Somerhalder recently hinted on the possibility of seeing Nina Dobrev back on the hit The CW series.
According to Movie News Guide, Somerhalder previously sat down for an interview where he joked about the fact that Dobrev's Elena may be dead, but she's still in a casket, and she could be resurrected anytime.
"She's still there, dude. She's in a casket; she's having a nap," he said.
At that time, Somerhalder's co-star Paul Welsey also hinted on the possibility of seeing Dobrev back on "The Vampire Diaries."
"Characters die and come back, It's like Jesus!" he said.
Meanwhile, Wesley recently spoke with TV Insider about Elena's fate. Despite the fact that Dobrev already exited the franchise, fans still believe that there's hope that they will see her again on the show.
"Elena's still a very big part of the story. Her body's in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up," he said.
In other news, Dobrev has already said time and time again that she won't return to "The Vampire Diaries" anytime soon. In fact, there are reports that the actress already has a number of projects up her sleeve.
There are rumors that she will star in the upcoming TV adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' hit novel "The Notebook." She will also star in the upcoming movies "The Final Girls" and "Arrivals."
Just recently, she also confirmed that she will be cutting her hair for another movie, but she said that she still cannot announce the title.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
