The Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone will be up for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade early next year. The device is just now waiting for the approval of the software on the phone.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade is expected to be rolled out to the Galaxy A7 devices, with a model number of SM-A7100, by the first or second quarter of 2016. The Galaxy A7 is a mid-range smartphone that was originally released in February 2015. It has a 5.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Super AMOLED screen. It also contains a 2600 mAh non-removable battery, 2GB of RAM, and a superb 13-MP rear-facing camera, the Tech Times reported.

The earliest update is by December, while the others will be sometime next year. It is also said that this update by Samsung will be the biggest in Android history and will start to roll out once the smartphone and the Marshmallow OS has been thoroughly checked to be performing in excellent condition, another Realty Today report said.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is said to be bringing in new features and improvements such as a USB Type-C or USB 3.1 support, app menu and app search bar, app standby, a new stylish clock, memory manager, lock screen message, battery optimization, volume control, fingerprint scanner support, lock down permissions, and last but not the least, doze or sleep function.

Other Samsung models that have already been confirmed to receive the Marshmallow update are Galaxy A8, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7, Galaxy E5, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Tab S2.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 receiving the Android 6.0M leaked information was first picked up from a British website. It has even shown the road map for several Samsung devices to be updated to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
