Apple will be unveiling something new MacBook Air Next year.
According to IGN. Earlier this 2015, Apple launched its latest, lightest MacBook ever. This move has sparked speculations that Apple might be phasing out the MacBook Air product lines. With this many begun to believe that Apple would soon be marketing its 12-inch MacBook as its most portable selection in its lines of portable computers.
But contrary to that Apple fan theory, the company is rumored to unveil a thinner, lighter MacBook Air in 13" and 15" version at its Worldwide Developers Conference next year. According to MacRumors, which had translated this piece of information from Taiwan's Economic Daily News, the next WWDC might be held in June if Apple will abide by its history. Moreover, it is also being rumored that the new MacBook Air will be launched in the third quarter or within the July to September timeframe.
According to IGN, in the meant time the new super thin MacBook has full-sized keyboard. Therefore, this MacBook should not be underestimated just because it is super light. Moreover it will feature keys that use Apple's latest "butterfly mechanism", instead of the traditional scissor mechanism, that renders more stable typing results.
Moreover, this MacBook will sport a larger trackpad that the previous MacBooks. The smaller hardware on this MacBook gave Apple the extra space needed to put a larger battery that can give 9 hours of battery life. It is said to include one new "USB-C" port, for charging and data transfer as well as video output. Apple reportedly has collaborated with other companies in designing the new port which will be also be in other devices in the future.
The new MacBook is available in silver, space grey, and "stunning gold," which will start shipping on April 10 in two variants: The 1.1 GHz dual-core with Intel Core M processor, Intel HD Graphics 5300, 8GB of memory and 256GB SSD at $1,299, or the 1.2GHz dual-core with Intel Core M processor and a 512GB SSD at $1599.
