Eiichiro Oda's manga goes to the big screen. Yes! That's right. "One Piece: Gold" will hit Japan Theater on July 23, 2016.
According to Crunchyroll, the anime movie of Eiichiro Oda's "One Piece" has been dated for release on 2016. The pirate action series, both in manga and TV anime, will have an animated film adaptation.
The "One Piece: Gold" is slated to hit Japan theaters on July 23, 2016. Anime News Network says that details of the movie will be announced on the 1st 2016 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will be released on Monday. And, many are expecting that more details will be revealed about the 13th "One Piece" film. The anime movie is titled "One Piece Film Gold."
It is noted that the 1st 2016 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine will also reveal that Eiichiro Oda will be part of the anime movie as Executive producer aside from "being credited with the original work." If recalled, manga creator Oda was also the executive producer of "One Piece Film Z," the previous movie of "One Piece" franchise.
Report also states that anime director Hiroaki Miyamoto, who helmed "One Piece" episodes 352-679 and assistant director for "One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island," will be part of the "One Piece Film Gold" as director. The upcoming anime movie will also be penned by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, the scriptwriter of "live-action Black Butler film, live-action Liar Game: The Final Stage film, live-action The Perfect Insider TV series."
As heads up, there will be pre-sale tickets of "One Piece Film Gold," which is scheduled on Dec. 18. It is also revealed that "Weekly Shonen Jump's second 2016 issue that ships on December 14 will reveal the bonus extra that will be bundled with the tickets."
"One Piece Film" has become a tradition of the franchise as every year a new anime movie adapted from Eiichiro Oda's manga opens since 2000. Aside from the upcoming animation film, "a new two-hour special titled One Piece ~Adventure of Nevlandia~ will air on December 19."
