GoPro Drone 'Karma' News: Stable, 4K Quality Videos Come 2016 for $5000-$1000?

GoPro is plunging on the consumer drone market. It is set to release its own come 2016 and will be called "Karma."

GoPro teased its fans with a short video about their new product last October, in which the drone took the video. Recently, the company has finally revealed their own version of the camera-equipped drone, which is due in 2016, GoPro's teaser video stated.

"Karma" is coming in 2016, aside from that, no other information is made available to date.

The GoPro "Karma" drone has been in the rumor mill since 2014. It was only this year that it has been confirmed by GoPro, the action-camera producer. Based on the test footage, the camera is capable of recording 4K quality videos. The video itself is very stable and is assumed by many to have been mounted on a quadcopter.

GoPro, had, in fact attempted earlier to have a camera-equipped drone. DJI and GoPro have actually started discussing this kind of project but it failed to materialize. DJI is a Chinese company and is the leading manufacturer of camera drones. It gained a billion dollars' worth of revenue last year, Forbes reported.

"We discussed with GoPro at the time. Initially [GoPro and DJI] wanted to make a product together for GoPro to sell, but the negotiation never came to fruition," the report added.

GoPro is creating its own version of it, and thd price is speculated to be between $500 to $1000. The GoPro company might possibly shed more light about their "Karma" drone and other latest offerings on next year's Consumer Electronics Show or CES 2016, happening in Las Vegas, Nevada in January 2016.

GoPro has also released their GoPro App for the Apple Watch. This GoPro application will allow users to remotely control their camera and capture the moments through their Apple Watch device.
