"90 Day Fiance" Season 2's most controversial couple, Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali, have split up. But while Jbali wants to divorce, Mullins wants to reconcile.
Last month, news about Mullins, 42, and Jbali, 27, breaking up emerged online, which did not actually surprise many. Mullins is from Ohio and Jbali is from Tunisia. With the huge age gap between them, many fans of the "90 Day Fiance" believe that Mohamed is just after the green card.
"So since people are being so hateful on other pages and groups. Me and Mohamed are splitting. I will not comment any further on the matter. Please allow me and my kids our privacy to heal and move on with our life," Danielle posted on her Facebook page on Dec. 17 after fans questioned why they set a GoFundMe account to fix their car.
But because there lacks details of why they split, fans are shooting speculations left and right, most popularly is the issue of infidelity.
In an exclusive interview with Norwalk Reflector, Mullins confirmed, "Yes, he has left the house. He's in Sandusky. He's staying with a coworker. We've split up but the (divorce) papers have not been signed yet."
According to Mullins, there's "a lot of reasons" Jbali wanted to divorce her, but she didn't dwell on the specifics. Nonetheless, Mullins said she wants to reconcile with Jbali, hoping to make things work.
"I'm trying," Danielle said. "But the social media drama needs to calm down. People don't need to know everything about our marriage. ... We've had non-stop social media problems: women trying to date him and things people say. People tell him different things and people tell me different things."
Mullins also told Norwalk Reflector about the infidelity concerns. The "90 Day Fiance" star said, "Girls have been throwing themselves at him. He's good looking and young and all these women want to date him. ... Some people just want to know what's going on, but there are actually people out there who just want their 15 minutes of fame and they think that because we were on TV they can get it here."
Danielle said social media just make things worse when you add that with their financial woes, and Jbali not having a job nor other family there. "I'm giving him time to cool off," she told Norwalk Reflector.
Jbali is yet to comment on the issue.
"90 Day Fiance" has already wrapped up Season 3. It will return for another season this year.
