Harry Styles may have written the song, “I Love You,” for his ex-girlfriend, “Blank Space” singer, Taylor Swift, according to the hints given by “The X-Factor USA” Season 3 winners, Alex and Sierra. This real-life couple recently released their debut album, titled “It’s About Us,” which featured one song they reportedly did not write.
Inquisitr says that this song was actually the controversial track “I Love You,” which is credited to writers Johan Carsson and Mick Greenberg. A lot of loyal One Direction fans believe that the latter is actually Styles’ songwriting alias.
“I Love You” is about a guy who ends up falling in love with a certain girl, but is not able to tell her how he truly feels. Instead, he makes her believe that he does not care about her. What makes it even more interesting is that a lot of today’s hardcore One Direction fans are truly convinced that Greenberg is actually Styles.
“We were told that Mick Greenberg wrote it,” said Alex, while Sierra just continued to laugh. “That’s what we were told. That’s all we know. It could be Shaq! We don’t know. Shaquille O’Neal might have written it.”
An ET Online report also stated that Alex and Sierra may have given one more clue about the real identity of Mick Greenberg, and what his relationship could be with Swift. “Maybe Mick and Taylor are really good friends,” they said. “Maybe Mick and Taylor had a fling!”
According to a separate ET Online, a lot of the song’s lyrics seem to be referring to Styles’ then-relationship with Swift. For instance, the line, “While we laid there on the soft, warm ground for a week and 13 days,” from "I Love You" seems to be similar with Tay-Tay’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” hit that said, “Now, I’m lying on the cold, hard ground.” Plus, loyal Swifties are well aware that the number “13” is her favorite number. Additionally, another Greenberg line sounds like a dead giveaway. “I won’t trouble you no more,” it said.
Swift also recently released two 15-second snippets of her official music video for “Style,” a song rumored to be all about Styles, as per Pop Crush. When the song was first officially released, a photo of the famous paper airplane necklace that Swift and Styles owned was posted by the webite on Instagram. The image was enough to send Haylor shippers into a frenzy.
The first clip predominantly showed the ocean, showing the video’s leading man, Dominic Sherwood, on the beach. The video showed a ship sailing in the hazy distance, which many believe was a reference to one of Styles’ tattoos. The second video, meanwhile, had a change in setting as it focused more on a wooded forest. It immediately made fans think of “Out of the Woods,” which is reportedly about the One Direction member.
