Screen Rant says that the big wigs over at FX network are purposely hyping “American Horror Story” Season 5 as an “unusually large reinvention” of the show’s previous season, “Freak Show.” The co-creators of the widely watched horror drama, Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, have now made an unexpected casting choice.

A separate Screen Rant report confirmed that Stefanie Germanotta, more famously known as Lady Gaga, will be among the lead stars of the upcoming season. Plus, the report stated that show runners finally agreed on a subtitle, “Hotel.”

It remains unclear what character Gaga will be playing, but she did confirm via her official Twitter page her participation in the show. “Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel,” she wrote, alongside a short clip that had Lady Gaga’s signature style over it.

"American Horror Story’ Season 5,” she said in the video. “Hotel,” she whispered after she took off her mask. Mirror says that some sources confirmed that Gaga will actually be a series regular after Jessica Lange opted to exit the show. This report sparked speculations that Gaga might have been chosen to take over Lange’s role, especially after her memorable performance at the end of “Freak Show.”

Pop Sugar is convinced that “American Horror Story” Season 5 might be similar to Stephen King’s 1980 classic horror film, “The Shining.” That said, the upcoming season might focus on a more paranormal storyline. If not “The Shining,” it might follow the bizarre and macabre plot similar to that of the famous slasher film, “Psycho,” which involved the murder and corruption of the Bates Motel’s staff members.

Either way, fans of the show are wondering how the previously reported alleged clues in the Season 4 finale will play into the plot. It was previously rumored that the Top Hat symbol will have a significant part in Season 5, according to The International Business Times.

Lady Gaga might be more known for her successful career in the music industry, but she is no stranger when it comes to acting. She has done a lot of acting in her official music videos such as in “Telephone” and “Paparazzi”. She has also done cameo appearances in “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” and “Machete Kills” by Robert Rodriguez.

It would be entertaining to see how the “Bad Romance” singer will debut her official entry from merely being a performer and song writer to becoming a TV actress.
