The business world was rocked after Jeff Bezos recently announced his retirement as Amazon CEO.
From its humble beginnings as an online bookstore in 1994, Jeff Bezos has brought the Amazon brand to greater heights and now emerged into a multi-trillion dollar company.
During the past two decades of Amazon's supremacy in the online retail industry, the world's richest man has also built an enormous real estate portfolio worth $500 million. Like Amazon products, Bezos' properties were also scattered all over the country from Washington, West Texas, Beverly Hills, and Seattle to New York City.
Below some of the real estate properties Jeff Bezos has built during his time as Amazon CEO.
Evergreen Point
At the rise of Amazon in 1998, Jeff Bezos purchased a five-bedroom, four-bathroom house in Medina, Washington. According to Realtor.com, the big boss paid $10 million for a 20,600-square-foot estate near local the Post Office.
Lincoln Square
In 1999, Bezos bought three apartments at Century Condominium located at 25 Central Park West for $7.65 million. He purchased another $5.3 million units in the same building in 2012. Today, Bezos' apartment collection in Century Condominium is worth $17.4 million.
Beverly Hills
In 2007, the Amazon CEO got himself a solar-powered mansion with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms for $24.45 million.
The two-acre estate comes with four outdoor gardens, a greenhouse, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a six-car garage, and a separate guest apartment.
According to the listing, the Spanish-style home boasts an exquisite interior with wooden ceiling beams, reddish floor tiles, decorative tiling, arched doors, and a wooden rotunda ceiling.
Meanwhile, in 2017, Bezos bought another Beverly Hills property for $12.9 million. As per Mansion Global, the 4,500-square-feet contemporary single-story home features four bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Kalorama Neighborhood
Based on the Washingtonian report, the Amazon CEO bought a house in the Kalorama neighborhood in 2016. On top of the $23 million he paid for the property, Bezos also splurged $12 million on the estate's renovation.
The 27,000-square-feet property holds ten bedrooms, eight bathrooms, six powder rooms, and 11 fireplaces. It also boasts a brick exterior with Roman columns and balconies, a fountain, and a private garden with brick-arched walkways.
Harry Warner Estate
Before the coronavirus global pandemic, Bezos closed a record-breaking deal after purchasing a $165 million worth mansion from billionaire producer David Geffen.
The 12,254-square-foot has eight-bedroom, 10-bathrooms. It features luxurious amenities, including a koi pond, a pool and spa with waterfalls, a tennis court, and a courtyard with an outdoor fireplace.
Inside the mansion lies a 12-seater dining room, a living room with an antique fireplace, a game room, and a separate attached apartment.
Madison Square Park
Just last year, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bezos acquired himself a $16 million three-bedroom condominium unit on the 20th floor of 212 Fifth Ave.
It is the Amazon CEO's fifth time to purchase an entire floor in the 24-story building. In June 2019, he paid $80 to secure the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th floors of the building to himself.
Bezos' luxury apartment shopping includes a three-story penthouse with a two-unit floor beneath it. According to Realtor.com, the online shopping mogul plans to combine all floors and units into a single mega-condo with a total of 17,000 square feet.
