Known as the "Oracle of Omaha," Berkshire Hathaway Inc. CEO Warren Buffett is known as one of the most successful investors of all time.
Despite having a net worth of $119 billion as of Sunday, per Forbes, Buffett still lives in a beautiful mansion he bought in 1958 for $31,500-which would be worth about $250,000 in today's money.
Buffett had spoken about his modest home in several interviews. In a BBC interview in 2009, the billionaire said he was "happy" living in his Omaha mansion and said he would move if he thought he'd be "happier somewhere else."
"How would I improve my life by having 10 houses around the globe? If I wanted to become a superintendent of housing ... I could have it as a profession, but I don't want to manage 10 houses and I don't want somebody else doing it for me and I don't know why the hell I'd be happier," he added.
Inside Warren Buffett's Mansion
Built in 1921, Buffett's Omaha mansion is located on a 0.73 acre land. The mansion itself spans 6,570 square feet with five bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, according to Business Insider. The home still features the original stucco structure from the 1920s, but the rest of the mansion had additions and renovations.
The mansion features white interiors and a sunroom marked by an arched door that bears the words "The Birthplace of Buffett Associates." The mansion's living room also offers a gentle look, with walls painted in pastels. These are outlined with the mansion's wooden flooring and dark-toned picture frame borders.
The main features of Buffett's living room are the big doors, skylights, and two side windows that allow natural light to seep in. In addition, the living room is also notable for a circular mirror hung near the centralized fireplace.
Apart from the living room, Buffett's mansion also features a U-shaped kitchen, a trend that was popular in the 90s. The kitchen is dotted with white appliances, ceramic jars, kettles, and mugs on shelves with light oak finishes. The home kitchen opens up to a sitting area with a fireplace, couches, and a center table.
Buffett's Other Properties
Buffett previously owned a vacation home in Laguna Beach, California, that he bought for $150,000 in 1971. The home, which spanned 3,100 square feet, featured four bedrooms and four baths. The home sold for $7.5 million in 2018, according to the Wall Street Journal.
