The cost of living in the city is 79% higher than the national average, with housing costing 207% more. Individuals looking to buy a home in the city, where the median price is $1.2 million, could expect to pay $5,000 in monthly mortgage.
Following Arlington and San Francisco is San Jose, California, where the lower-middle-class income range is $90,673 to $151,122. "To escape the lower middle class, you'll need to earn as much as $150,000, which is substantially higher than what it used to be."
