As the most anticipated Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2 is getting nearer, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao concentrates on his training in Los Angeles. Manny's day usually starts with a jog and a light breakfast of egg sandwich. Then, he comes home and relaxes with his training team, Team Pacquiao.
And where else does he chill in when he's in the U.S.? In his Los Angeles mansion, of course.
He gave a tour to the "Unang Hirit" TV crew, a morning news-oriented show of GMANetwork, Philippines. As seen in the GMA Network video report, the tour focused on the people he is with and what they do to be ready for the fight.
The tour showed his caretaker and cook, "Tita Lilia" who mainly cooks Filipino meals for him. Manny is particular with having lots of his friends around him during his training so that he will not miss his family in the Philippines that much.
Manny bought the LA Mansion for $2.17million in 2009 and in 2010, it was featured in MTV's Cribs. It has five bedrooms, 5.5 baths, a swimming pool and a luxurious kitchen, as reported by Huffington Post. Manny listed the house for sale in 2013 for $2.7 million.
In August 2013, ABS-CBN reported that Manny confirmed that the real reason of actually selling this LA Mansion is for them to buy another in Beverly Hills, which is safer for them. Manny confirmed the news that there were burglary incidents concerning his LA Mansion.
True enough, GMA Network, in a separate report, says that Manny is touring downtown LA to possibly buy 2 buildings and one house. Manny confirmed he likes a building to be an open to the public training gym. Pacman says he will name it as "Manny Pacquiao's Sports Complex" and that it will be open to the public. He scouted a 2-hectare lot property worth $15 million if it could fit the purpose.
He next went to see Jennifer Lopez' 3,500 sq. m. or more than 37.600 sq. ft. mansion in Beverly Hills. The $12 mansion is in the exclusive gated-community, The Summit.
Jlo's former house has a contemporary Mediterranean style which boasts of 7 bedrooms, a 25-car garage, a home theater, saltwater swimming pool and jacuzzi. Its interio includes all-genuine leather sofa, automatic light and drapes systems. Manny said he thinks his wife will like the Master's bedroom with a His and Hers walk-in closet.
"Beautiful, with privacy," Manny Pacquiao said after the tour.
When asked by Connie Sison, Unang Hirit's Reporter, "Will you make an offer tonight?" Manny Pacquiao said. "Yes."
Whatever happens, Floyd and Manny are expected to earn $300 million from their big fight, icluding the pay-per-view buys of the megafight. This translates to $180million for Mayweather and $120 million for Paquiao, notes Daily Mail.
This may be the reason why even while in training, Manny is still scouting for new properties. Even if he loses or wins, he'll get a 40 percent share close to $120 million which can definitely pay for those luxury homes.
