It is already a given that “Insidious Chapter 3” is going to tell the audience about how everything began way before the events of the first film. However, what many people do not know is that producer Jason Blum might tie all his horror franchises together, according to Indie Wire.

The report said that Blum was interested in having a shared horror universe model, something that is quite similar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Yeah!,” he told Cinema Blend during the SXSW Film Festival. “I want to do that! We’ve been putting Easter Eggs in movies in different things. There’re some in ‘Insidious 3.’ There’re some in ‘Sinister 2.’ So, yeah, we’ve been doing that. I would like to do more of that.”

Although it would appear that he might be doing a horror shared universe in the future, he cautioned his fans that the team up will not be happening soon. “We’re not close to an ‘Avengers,’” he said. “But, I do like the idea of having the worlds collide in the different franchises we work on. That’s a really cool idea. I want to continue to do that.”

In “Insidious Chapter 3,” a new horror is introduced and the franchise’s famed psychic medium is called in to battle evil in the realm of the dead called “The Further.” Quinn Brenner, played by Stefanie Scott from “Jem and the Holograms,” and her father, played by Dermot Mulroney from “August: Osage County,” will be constantly haunted by this new evil, as detailed by Screen Rant.

Lin Shaye will be returning to the horror franchise to reprise her role as the psychic medium. She brings with her ghost-hunting team and they attempt to exorcise the demon together. In signature horror movie fashion, this is most likely when the audience’s screams intensify.

Bloody-Disgusting predicted that “Insidious Chapter 3” is going to be a good horror flick to watch especially since Leigh Whannell, the co-creator of the franchise, is the director. The fact that Whannell also co-created “Saw” with James Wan led the franchise’s waiting fans to expect a lot of scary scenes.

This is actually a huge relief for the franchise, particularly because its second installment was a flop, according to Slash Film. The first film was a stellar take on modern horror but the sequel seemed to have placed more focus on establishing a story than its actual horror concept. Thankfully, the “Insidious Chapter 3” trailer suggested that the third installment will be correcting that error.

Mulroney, Scott, and Shaye, will be joined by the franchise’s regular stars, Whannel and Angus Sampson. Focus Features will be releasing “Insidious Chapter 3” on June 5, 2015.
