Gal Gadot was recently slammed by DC fans who took to social media to critique her small frame. According to Independent, fans of the Wonder Woman character strongly believe that the casting decision to bring in Gadot was "misguided."
"They said that I was too skinny - my boobs were too small," Gadot told Robot Underdog. "They said my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick."
Gadot was selected for the highly coveted role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming DC blockbuster "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice." She was also called in to portray the same superhero in a solo film.
"I can take anything," she said. "It's just empty talk. I can understand that part of what I'm doing means being exposed. And, part of being exposed is being under fire."
"When I was younger, I would take criticism really hard," she added. "But, now, it mostly amuses me."
Moreover, it would appear that Gadot opted to take the high road and respond to her bashers with humor, according to Screen Rant. "The true Amazons had one boob so it wouldn't bother them in their archery," she said. "So, it's not going to be like real Amazons. We always try to make everyone happy, but we can't."
Director Zack Snyder came to her defense, telling everyone that Gadot possesses a "magical quality" that makes her the right choice for Wonder Woman.
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time, and a fan favorite in the DC universe," Snyder said. "Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role."
According to Comic Book, Gadot never waited "so long for a reply," referring to her waiting period after she auditioned for the part. "It was a month and a half of torture," she said. "I couldn't talk about it to anyone. I had a lot of missed calls. I called my agent, she told me, 'Congratulations! You got the part!'"
Gadot told YnetNews, as translated by Omermer, that she will never take the job that she has now for granted. "I will never spit into the well from which I drink from," she said. "Playing Wonder Woman is a once in a lifetime opportunity."
In "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," Gadot will be joined by Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
