Architecture firm HWKN has won MoMA PS1's annual Young Architects Program competition with a fabric and scaffolding installation.
The work will be displayed in the courtyard of MoMA PS1 in Long Island City, Queens, this summer. Named "Wendy," the installation cleanses the air with smog-eating coating and has reusable materials.
New York-based HWKN's Matthias Hollwich, Marc Kushner and Robert May led the design team.
MoMa PS1 also hosts a music series and dance party, "Warm Up," in the courtyard each summer. This year will mark the program's 15th year.
