Beno Udrih of the Memphis Grizzlies decided to list his former home in Seattle, which is right next to Lake Washington, for $6.55 million. The Slovenian native reportedly wanted to settle down somewhere else, a location that has not been specified.
He actually purchased this property in 2013 at a price of $4.4 million. Puget Sound Business Journal stated that the property was actually built on spec and was originally placed on the market with a hefty price tag of $7.5 million. One of his famous neighbors include Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks.
When he bought the Seattle property, fans of the Seattle Sonics became hopeful that the team was going to return to the league. Sadly, that was not the case.
As reported by Realtor, it was a joint decision made by Udrih and his then-wife, Michelle Wiley Udrih, to buy the Seattle home. According to the report, the couple had actually been looking for the perfect place for them to settle down between their trips to Europe and the United States.
It is a 9,820-square-foot home built in 2012. It is loaded with various amenities which include a massive deck that gives its owner a breathtaking view of the lake. The view it provides is one of the biggest reason it was considered a perfect home for a relaxation-seeking traveler - just like Udrih and his then-wife.
Udrih has also been bouncing around within the league ever since he started his career in the NBA. The 32-year-old basketball star first entered the league with the San Antonio Spurs in 2004, and now shoots hoops for the Grizzlies.
Apart from the stunning and highly relaxing view, the house also has its own game room, its own huge theater, and a beautiful modern-style kitchen. It boasts of French doors and open vistas that give its owners a lot of privacy.
Although it may be true that Udrih could have lived anywhere in the United States, especially with his earnings during the course of his basketball career which was estimated to be more than $30 million, the Lake Washington view attracted him to the listing.
Unfortunately, the couple decided to end their marriage just last year. According to the report, the divorce may have been the reason Udrih decided to sell the home he once shared with his ex-wife.
