“Wanted 2” might still come to fruition even if it has already been seven years since the first film hit theaters with over-the-top fashion. Rumors about a sequel have been consistently mushrooming since the first movie became a hit but it appears that a second movie might actually happen now.

“I would be so happy to work with James McAvoy, Konstantin Khabensky, and Angelina Jolie again,” “Wanted” director, Timur Bekmambetov, told Collider. “This film has influenced my film career in the U.S.A. a lot. It means a great deal to me.”

“For my part, I already have the concept of the new story,” he admitted. “I have all the screenwriters and co-producers onboard. I have seen that some websites have even posted the posters of ‘Wanted 2.’”

Furthermore, he revealed that the sequel is actually already in the works and that he is working on the film’s storyline. Taking a look at the statement that he made about the sequel, it appears that Bekmambetov is really excited to work with the original team once again.

Jolie’s character, Fox, died in “Wanted” after she got hit by her own curving bullet. Although she was an expert marksman, she had to make some quick changes to her calculations to save the life of Wesley, played by McAvoy.

However, for a director as skilled Bekmambetov, bringing back Jolie’s character will not be difficult at all. That issue can easily be fixed with a simple explanation. What seems to be a huge problem is that everyone cannot start with the production since they are all waiting for Universal Pictures to give the green light on the start date, said Cinema Blend.

It looks like the studio is still contemplating the perfect and best pre-production start date for the film. Getting the most strategic date for films is actually important especially now that Fox, Marvel, and Warner Bros. have already taken up all of the good movie release dates in the next five years. To date, it remains unknown when “Wanted 2” will be out.

“Wanted” was an amazing, jaw-dropping rollercoaster of a film with unique action sequences. What made the action sequences within the film even more interesting was that they punctuated these with style and finesse. It was only given a $75 million budget but was able to garner a highly impressive $341 million in the global box office.
