"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 finale is coming up, but Damon Salvatore, played by Ian Somerhalder, still has not made a decision regarding the cure. It was Bonnie, played by Kat Graham, who gave him the cure but it appears that he is having second thoughts on whether he should give it to Elena Gilbert, played by Nina Dobrev.
According to a report from International Business Times, Damon will be opening up to Elena and will be bringing up "their future together and what life would be like if they were not vampires." After all, Elena has never hesitated in telling him about her fantasy human life.
"You own the bar and when you are not working there, you are on our couch, pouring me wine, massaging my feet after a long day in the OR," Elena told Damon. "I am in the surgical residency program."
"Of course you are," Damon answered. "Kids?"
"Yeah, eventually," Elena said. "But, we should probably have two. You know. So they can keep each other company when we are distracted by other things." She then leans forward to kiss Damon.
It appears that Elena's comments made Damon change his mind. Ever since he got hold of the vampire cure, he has chosen to hide it from Elena - undecided on whether he should give it to her.
Fans now want to know whether her fantasy has made him want to give her the back-to-human cure. However, no matter how bittersweet it may seem, adding kids into the show's storyline seems unlikely especially since Dobrev is exiting the show.
His previous decision to keep the cure from her will reportedly influence Elena's exit from the story. It can only be one of two things - either Elena leaves town as a human who wants to start over somewhere else, or she leaves Mystic Falls as a vampire who is very angry with Damon for keeping the cure from her.
Moreover, fans of the vampire-centered show will be gifted with a sneak peek into what the future holds for the people of Mystic Falls - and rumor has it that the audience will see Elena with children. "The season ends with a flash forward," executive producer Julie Plec revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "The show is not cut yet. So, by the time I am done with it, it might not, but, currently, it does."
