Nike just unveiled two new shoe models in honor of two of today's biggest basketball icons, namely, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. The designs of Kobe 10 "High Dive" and LeBron 12 "Buckets" have already become high in demand ahead of their official release date.
The Nike Kobe 10 collection, as featured in Nike, already showcased a lot of solid color schemes but the Kobe 10 "High Dive" is the first one that was made purposely and especially for children. According to Sneaker News, this particular design has taken inspiration from Bryant's mega-plunge from a diving board that was 50 feet high.
Apparently, heights were Bryant's biggest fear but the Los Angeles Lakers player managed to overcome this and take the big leap.
Nike LeBron 12 "Buckets," meanwhile, was also meant to suit the children's tastes. According to Nike, its look was inspired by an epic water fight, hence its name - something that is always fun to do during summer. Plus, the water fight tradition was reportedly started by James when he celebrated his second championship. That said, this particular design is being marketed as the perfect choice for summer kicks.
Bryant's summer kicks, the "High Dive," features a special blue lagoon base that has white mesh overlays. Although the base is predominantly white, it still showcases some chlorine blue tones that made the design pop out some more. To make the look even more interesting, the design also features shades of total orange and key lime to give off a vibe that is more fitting for the summer season. The Kobe 10 "High Dive" will be launched on May 13, Wednesday, in select Nike basketball retailers.
The LeBron 12 "Buckets" also features relatively similar color ways for its design, and it will also be out on the 13th of May, according to Sole Collector. Apart from their general designs, these two new additions are also different in terms of prices. Kobe 10 "High Dive" is priced at $135, while LeBron 12 "Buckets" is going to be sold at $160.
These two summer shoe designs will make children prepare their water guns, water balloons, or any other child-friendly weapon that they want to use for a water fight. After all, as Def Pen Radio pointed out, a water fight is a good way of keeping things cool as the weather heats up for summer. Apart from that, the heavily graphic color schemes are also suitable for the children - especially with its summer-fitting shades.
