'NYPD Blue' Actress Kim Delaney Asks $8M for Beverly Hills Home

Kim Delaney, the Emmy-award winning actress who was recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in "NYPD Blue," has listed her luxurious home in the posh community of Beverly Hills, reports The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

After staying there for almost two decades, the Philadelphia-born actress has decided to put the home on the market for $8M, WSJ adds.

The Spanish-Revival designed house which was built in the 1920s, covers almost 5300 sq.ft. of living space and includes five bedrooms, where two of them have direct access to a balcony that offers overlooking views of the verdant lawn and the mesmerizing swimming pool, the news outlet describes. Apart from the main house, there is a one-bedroom guesthouse for the new owner's visitors.

The home also features a living room that is naturally-lit via several windows, a circular entry foyer with a Juliet balcony, wooden flooring, and four fireplaces.

Based on the photos of the house, which can be seen via the Wall Street Journal, one will see the collection of grand furniture Delaney displays in her home. In her interview with Bank Rate, she admitted her love for furniture shopping and gave details on what kind of furnishing catches her eye.

"Well, I have this amazing desk that was a big splurge. It's like a piece of art. I like furniture. It's stingray (hide) and mother of pearl -- simply gorgeous. I got it in Los Angeles. (I) was actually going to go to this antique and hardware store but parked in the wrong spot. I just went into this store where I found all these great pieces of furniture. I found a surfboard mirror that I sent to Charleston because it's perfect for the surfing here," Delaney told Bank Rate.

When she was asked during the interview if shopping is her "extravagant hobby," she said, "Yes, I'd say so. I definitely like that better than shopping for clothes or stuff for myself. I mean, I love clothes, but I'm not one to go into a store and look at clothes and shoes like other women. I'd rather go look at furniture. I love the estate sales of furniture too, so I consider it an investment of sorts."

She also likes taking a moment to just sit and relax. Thus, outside, you may also find one of Ms. Delaney's favorite spots in her property, which is the fountain that comes with a sitting area, notes WSJ.

According to the news outlet, Delaney is selling the property because her son is already grown and she would want to transfer to a home with a beach nearby. However, the beautiful actress is also looking for a place in New York, since his son lives in Manhattan.

The "Army Wives" actress also told WSJ that she currently owns two houses on the Jersey Shore, including one where her parents live. The actress is a doting daughter who always gets back home to be with her parents every month. She already marked her calendar this Mother's Day weekend, notes the news site.

For interested parties, Billy Rose and Alex Brunkhorst of the Agency may be contacted about the listing, states WSJ.
