Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to put their New Orleans mansion up for sale with an asking price of $6.5 million. The A-list couple reportedly purchased the property for $3.25 million.
This jet-setting couple has actually been pretty active within the community, especially after Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc in the area back in 2005. Now, a source revealed to Us Weekly that they decided to change their address to something "off the beaten path down the road."
Despite their decision to sell their former home, the couple's representative confirmed that they will continue with their commitment to help the residents of New Orleans, with more focus on "growth in the lower ninth through the Make It Right Foundation."
This particular foundation was actually founded by Pitt himself. In 2007, the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" actor came up with the idea of helping families left with nothing when Hurricane Katrina arrived.
This three-storey Big Easy property has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It has its own guest house that is complete with one bedroom and two bathrooms. Altogether, the former house of Brangelina spans over 7,645 square feet.
For the interior design, there are huge fireplaces made of marble, walls made of Venetian plaster, and a massive spiral staircase. Yahoo! Celebrity is convinced that Pitt may have contributed to the property's design and architecture - considering that the actor has experience in designing furniture.
Apart from the uniquely styled staircase, the house has its very own elevator facility. A beautiful kitchen also houses state-of-the-art appliances. Furthermore, the house boasts of its own central courtyard, a swimming pool, and a garage that can hold up to two automobiles.
Brangelina lived here for eight years. This fact has made their fans want to have a quick look at how the property looks like from the inside. Sadly, Perez Hilton stated that the couple has been a wee bit secretive about this listing.
This property was once the location of one of the most unforgettable moments during the Super Bowl XLVIII. Pitt and good pal Matthew McConaughey realized that they were neighbors and started to toss each other beers through their balconies.
This New Orleans mansion is only one of the many residences that the family has all over the globe. They own a huge mansion in the Los Felix neighborhood of Los Angeles, a luxurious apartment in New York City, and, of course, Chateau Miraval - where their wedding took place just last August.
