European car maker Audi has recently launched details and photos of its newest offering for its A4 variant. Cnet was one of the few who had access to it. Cnet reported that the Volkswagen owned manufacturer is advancing on the self-driving technology to go forth with everyone's ultimate goal, fuel efficiency. The report said that Audi is looking to launch the 2017 A4 model in the United States sometime in 2017.Of all the technological advances that Audi has to offer, the newest of the A4 brood is leaning more on the fuel efficiency side.

The A4 will be offered in the four cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, one in particular is the 2.0TFSI Ultra. This variant offers 188 horsepower and estimated 49mpg efficiency, while the 2 liter diesel engine gets an impressive 63.6 mpg. The US models that will be offered are the 2 liter turbo charged gasoline and diesel engines.

With regards to the cars latest technology offering, Audi will equip the A4 with its Predictive Efficiency Assistant. This optional feature will synchronize with its adaptive cruise control. It will automatically adjust the set speed for terrain, curves in the road and speed limits. Audi also said that these features can increase fuel efficiency by 10%. This technology is also the base of the full-self driving car technology.

MotorAuthority also said that the newest Audi car or Audi's 2017 A4 offering will also have the Traffic Jam Assist feature. It works when the car speeds under 40 mph, the car can self-steer, through its forward looking camera that recognizes lane lines. However, this technology, will only work on well-developed roads and only when the traffic is congested. But, this technology is still under consideration for the US market.

The cabin, meanwhile, will get its Virtual Cockpit look, as it was first seen in the new TT model. This new system replaces the instrument panel cluster with a large LCD showing virtual gauges, navigation and other vital information. The display is adjustable and is capable to highlight appropriate and important information for the driver.

The price of the 2017 A4 is yet to be determined and is most likely to be announced later this year.
