U.S. economist Jeffrey Sachs is withdrawing his nomination to lead the WorldBank in support of the U.S. nominee Jim Yong Kim, his spokeswoman said on Friday.

"Prof Sachs supports Dr Kim one hundred percent and with complete enthusiasm," Sachs' spokeswomanErin Trowbridge said in an emailed statement.
