Wesley Snipes has confirmed about the recent talks of his upcoming project with Marvel Studios. Rumor has it for days that Snipes will be reprising his role as "Blade" in the very near future.
Comic Book reports the recent interview of Wesley Snipes with Deadline. Snipes is supposedly promoting his new TV series "The Player" when he has been asked about the rumor concerning him returning as "Blade."
In the course of the interview, Wesley revealed that he had a discussion with the Marvel Studios. It has been reported that Marvel Studios has gotten back the rights to "Blade" 2 years ago. The buzz about it has been circling around that Blade would be shown on a second run of Netflix series together with other characters for "Midnight Sons." It is said that one of the team members of supernatural superheroes that would be returning is "Ghost Rider"- its rights has been returned to Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Perez Hilton implies that "Blade" might steal the crown from the "Avengers" which now rule the Box office if indeed the former gets the second run. It has been recalled that "Blade" movie became a hit film in 1998 and had 2 more sequels in 2002 and 2004 respectively.
No one expects to see a part 4 of Blade since Snipes had legal issues plus the change in ownership of the film.
However, Screen Rant says that Wesley didn't spill all the details with he had a meeting with the Marvel Studios. "We did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don't know where it's on their schedule at this point, that hasn't been decided," he said. In addition, the "Blade" star said that he could also do another character of Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had been open to other concepts that are equally exciting and hopefully successful as the 1998 film.
