OC Register reports that In Orange County, the local real estate industries have employed 233,200 workers last month. Based on records for the last 5 years, the real estate industry has employed 40,700 jobs. Furthermore, It has been noted that in the span of 5 years, real estate jobs have taken 25% of the 165,800 jobs created in the entire Orange County economy.
The jobs created by real estate industries vary from construction, building supply stores, architecture and engineering, building services, and real estate sales-- including lending.
The real estate climate of Orange County has proved that the local economic condition has been recovering. This has pushed real estate developers to build more properties and come up with new projects. The bosses from this sector have been hiring more staff and workers, which not only boost the real estate industry but other businesses as well.
The figures of local employment are pretty impressive for Orange County. According to the data, the real estate developers have added 10,700 workers for the last 12 months. The number has been translated to a 4.8 % in increase. June's employment is reported to have 12.6 % greater than the usual job count for the past 5 years.
Meanwhile, Builder Online has release additional detailed data in the Orange County employment in Real Estate Industry. It says that in the construction employment, the figure rose to 7.7% every year (the figure was reflected last month). It means that there's an additional 6,300 workers that are now working in construction sites.
Orange County (Calif.) Register columnist Jeff Lansner, has calculated that real estate trades account for 1-in-4 of all jobs created in Orange County in the past five years.
