The Universal Studios' "Jurassic World" is ready for its sequel with Steven Spielberg producing it. The next installment will hit theaters worldwide in 2018.

Variety reports that Steven Spielberg will be the Executive producer of the "Jurassic World" sequel through his Amblin Entertainment. In fact, the Universal Studios has set the specific date of the movie sequel, which will be on June 22, 2018.

Based on report, Collin Trevorrow, director of "Jurassic World", will pen the script with Derek Connolly for "Jurassic World" sequel.

"Jurassic World" has broken the record of "The Avengers", making the movie the 3rd Top-grossing film of all time. "Avatar" and "Titanic" were only behind the "Jurassic World." It has amassed $1.52 billion in ticket sales. To date, it only has one more territory to conquer. "Jurassic World" will debut on August 5 in Japan.

CNBC says that there has been no official title for the "Jurassic World" sequel yet.

In addition to the report, Universal Pictures has a stellar year for its movies that have been released this year. "Jurassic World" is included in the line-up of Universal movies that earn over billions in ticket sales, making the studio the "fastest studio to hit $2 billion at the box office in a calendar year last month." Among the Universal Studios movies that hit the box office are "Fifty Shades of Grey," on February, "Furious 7" on April and "Pitch Perfect 2," May.

EW reports that the Universal Studios has not announced the director of the "Jurassic World" sequel yet. However, main casts like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard would reprise their roles in the sequel. Aside from Steven Spielberg, Collin Trevorrow will also be the co-executive producer, and Frank Marshall set as producer. It has also been reported that Legendary Pictures will co-produce with the upcoming sequel.
