If you're a golfer, then the address for you is Jupiter Island, Florida.

In 2006, PGA star Tiger Woods bought his Jupiter Island property and set up base here. Complete with a golf training facility that replicated tournament-level playing scenarios, Woods’ is an ocean front property on approximately 10 acres of land.

Woods is not the only famous golfer who has made Jupiter Island his home. Over the years, a number of PGA stars such as Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Camilo Villegas and Steve Marino all have set up base in Jupiter Island, thus replacing Orlando as the centre of golf activities.

And what makes Jupiter Island a sought-after location?

"Jupiter is just a great area to live," Woods was quoted by Pgatour.com.

According to the website, other reasons why Florida is a sought-after location include a dramatic rise in earnings over the last 15 years, and, subsequently, private jet usage -- no longer does a top player need to live near a big international airport. But primarily it is due to the beauty of the location.

But for PGA player Tom Gillis, it was the climate that acted as the deciding factor.

“There's no warmer place in the country in the winter months than South Florida," the Michigan native told Pgatour.com. "The one thing I really liked is you get quite a bit of wind. I thought that was good to practice in."
