A South London apartment complex is set to feature a rather unique innovation in its real estate project: a glass bottom sky pool suspended at a height of 35 meters or 10 stories. The pool will be made entirely of glass, allowing swimmers to see everything below them and also gaze directly up the sky as they wish.

According to House Beautiful, the Sky Pool will be eight inches thick and will serve as a bridge connecting two apartment buildings. The innovation, which is said to be world's first, is dubbed as the next show stopper in Nine Elms. It will be specifically located at Embassy Gardens.

Home & Property was able to talk to the CEO of Ballymore Group, the developer of the property. Sean Mulryan said that "the vision for the Sky Pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering. The experience of the pool will be truly unique; it will feel like floating through the air in central London."

The Sky Pool will measure 90 feet long and 19 feet wide and will have a depth of about 10 feet. It will reportedly appear to be floating and will resemble a giant aquarium. From the pool, the residents of Embassy Gardens can enjoy amazing views of the Palace of Westminster and the London Eye. The sky deck will also feature a summer bar, sun loungers, a spa and orangery.

The developer is set to begin the second phase of the real estate project, which is called the Legacy Buildings. Embassy Gardens is an apartment complex with 2,000 homes built beside the new American Embassy.

Construction of the pool is reportedly set to start this summer. Apartments will reportedly be available for sale in September, with prices starting from £602,000. They will be ready for move-in by 2017.
