The Southbury country home of iconic television host Ed Sullivan is listed.
The 4-bedroom, 3-bath house at 367 North George Hill Rd, Southbury, CT, situated on almost 2 acres, is for sale for $460,000.
The two-level house was once part of a much larger estate where Sullivan raised a heard of Guemsey and Holstein cows, JoAnn Bredenberg, Coldwell Banker in Southbury, told Zillow.
"The estate was subdivided, and a barn was converted to a home," Bredenberg told Zillow.
Features of the house include a fair size living room with a fireplace, a dining room with bay windows, and a family den with a wet bar and book shelves.
The 4-bedrooms include a master bedroom with full bath, balcony, walk-in closet and bedroom suite. The second bedroom, third and fourth are fair sized, located in all levels of the house.
The kitchen is remodeled with a fireplace, large family eating space with a large counter top shelf.
The 3,562-square-foot home also has an unfinished partial basement, two attached garages, wood, slate/stone and tile floors, as well as an in-ground heated pool.
According to Zillow, Sullivan lived in the estate with his wife. Sullivan died in 1974, but the home stayed in his family until it was sold in 2008 for $520,000.
Bredenberg told Zillow the 1920 Colonial, on the market for about three months, retains many of the original features from when Sullivan lived there. These features include slate and wide-board floors.
The asking price has been reduced from the original $480,000. According to Zillow, Bredenberg has the listings.
