Proving she's either stuck in a violent tailspin, or the foremost performance artist of our times, Lindsay Lohan was once again arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning, Nov. 28 and charged with third-degree assault, reported ABC News.
The 26-year-old sometime actress was arrested following a brawl at a nightclub in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, according to police. Lohan was arrested on a misdemeanor charge after she allegedly punched Tiffany Eve Mitchell at Club Avenue on 10th Avenue and 17th street at around 4 a.m. the morning of Nov. 29.
"Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?" said Lohan, according to TMZ.com, after cops slapped on the handcuffs outside the Chelsea hotspot Avenue around 4 a.m.
Lohan was seen reportedly bolting from the nightclub in a friend's car when police stopped her and brought her to the stationhouse, where she received a desk appearance ticket, police told ABCNews.com. Lohan was seen leaving the station just after 7:30 a.m., with a black jacket pulled over her head.
According to the New York Daily News, the "Mean Girl" star had been spotted at the Justin Bieber concert at Madison Square Garden earlier that evening.
When Lohan hit the club hours later, she and Mitchell were sitting in separate VIP sections at club Avenue. A scuffle involving other club-goers broke out, the two women exchanged words, and then both sat down, reported the Daily News.
However, that was not the end of things for Lohan. The fiery redhead got back up and struck Mitchell in the face, said an unnamed source. The victim did not require medical attention and will not face charges, a police source said.
Mitchell, her husband and another couple left the 10th Precinct about 7:15 a.m. and fled in a yellow cab. The victim's face appeared slightly bruised, said the Daily News.
Lohan had been a regular at Avenue until she was banned from the club earlier in 2012 after the actress tweeted that Justin Timberlake was seeing another woman at the club while he was dating Jessica Biel.
Representatives for Lohan have not responded to repeated requests for comment, says TMZ.
The late night fight marks yet another low for the troubled Lohan. The actress has been imprisoned six times now, according to ABC News, although she has spent less than two weeks in jail. Last year, she spent 35 days under house arrest after pleading no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace. She remains on informal probation for that theft, which means she doesn't have to check in with a judge or probation officer but could face a jail term if arrested.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner took Lohan off probation from her 2007 DUI case in March. While in court, Sautner commended Lohan for doing "everything that this court has asked of her," including completing 60 days of community service and multiple psychological counseling sessions, and offered her some advice: "Stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work."
