Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch is the latest entry of the Korean company into the market of premium full-size tablets. Samsung has made the Galaxy Tab S2 the thinnest and lightest in its class so as to attract the attention of current and prospective Apple iPad buyers. Take a first look at what the Galaxy Tab S2 has to offer below.

The display of the tablet is a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED unit with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels; 264ppi; and 4:3 aspect ratios. The CPU features 1.9GHz quad-core Cortex-A57 and 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A53. It has a RAM of 3GB and a 32/64GB built-in memory.

According to the review of GSM Arena, the main camera has 8MP with 1440p video capture at 30fps and a 2.1MP front-facing unit. Other features include: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac; Bluetooth 4.1; microUSB v2.0 with MHL TV-out; GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS; optional 4G LTE network connectivity and built-in fingerprint sensor. It also has dual speakers and an Operating System of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with TouchWiz UX.

According to a Phone Arena reportthe packaging of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch is in line with what the consumers have been seeing of late with Samsung's high-end devices. Just like the Galaxy S6 and Note 5, this tablet features a discrete packaging that doesn't offer any clues to its design and looks. The package includes the usual set of documentation, a micro SD card tray adapter tool, the micro USB cable, and a wall charger.

What's really incredible with the tablet is it's insanely skinny and lightweight. Samsung have really trimmed off a lot of the fat, which is amazing considering that we thought last year's unit was already compact and super skinny.

Phone Arena also reported that the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch is powered by the same chipset used by the Note 4 but is getting its muscle from the octa-core Exynos 5433 SoC, which is accompanied with 3GB of RAM. In terms of internal memory, the tablet comes with a minimum 32GB of storage. The tablet boasts of an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing one. With an SRP of $499.99, this super thin tablet has a reasonable price when we factor in its design and specs sheet. The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch is one of the few, high-end Android tablets that does a whole lot more.
