The newest luxury hotel in Newcastle has finally opened. Crowne Plaza Newcastle in Stephenson Quarters is now open for business after over two years of construction by developer Clouston Group.
The hotel is located on Hawthorne Square, Forth Street and features seven stories and 251 bedrooms. The luxury hotel offers various facilities such as an on-site fitness center, a spa which features a swimming pool, spa bath, steam room and gym, and various recreation amenities. Guests can enjoy various activities here such as indoor ice skating, jet skiing, mountain or rock wall climbing, and many more.
Based on the hotel's official website though, the swimming pool will only be open beginning Thursday.
According to Booking.com, the hotel rooms offer a city view and have various amenities to spoil guests including a TV, telephone, air conditioning, mini bar and en suite bathroom. Other in-room facilities are a work desk and safety deposit box.
Guests can also enjoy exquisite dishes in the on-site restaurant which offers British cuisine. They can also chill out with gin-based cocktails and other drinks in the hotel's Gin Bar.
For those who are checking in the hotel for work, Crowne Plaza Newcastle offers various meeting facilities. There are nine adaptable meeting rooms that can accommodate 12 to over 400 people. The main site reportedly boasts a unique design with 12 sides and no pillars and features its own pre-event area. Built-in screens and designated refreshment areas are also included.
However, according to Chronicle Live, the hotel is already fully booked for conferences and events until 2017.
General manager Andrew Fox said that the hotel is gearing up for upcoming events in the last quarter of the year. "We've already welcomed our first guests and it's an absolute pleasure to see people enjoying the facilities," he said.
"It's an exciting time to be opening our doors as we prepare to host guests for huge sporting events such as the Great North Run on Sunday and then the Rugby World Cup 2015 in October. We're also gearing up for Christmas and are busy taking party bookings and planning our festive menus and entertainment packages," he continued.
