Anime News Network says that the Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine's 42nd issue has revealed that creators of Bakuman Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba will publish 2 chapters of the said manga. As mentioned, this move is to "commemorate the theatrical opening of the live-action Bakuman movie."

The Bakuman live-action film will premier on October 3 in Japan. Thus, the first 2 chapters of "Bakuman: Age 13" is scheduled on September 21 in the Weekly Shonen Jump 43rd Issue. It is also revealed that the first chapter has 23 pages and has a center color page.

Crunchy Roll states that the plot of the Bakuman Manga will simply a narrative prior to the time that "Saikō" and "ShÅ«jin" have met since the it is a prequel story. Fandom Post reports that the new chapters "will be serialized in the September 19th and September 28th installments of the digital magazine."

If remembered, Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba (creators of Death Note) have started serializing the Bakuman manga in 2008 up to 2012. Both had created a total of 20 volumes, which had been published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and sold more than 15 million copies. This manga has been adapted into 3 TV anime series in 2010 until 2013.

The manga has been released by Viz Media in North America, while the anime was only partly released on DVD by Media Blasters.

The Bakuman live-action movie stars Takeru Satoh of Rurouni Kenshin, Ryunosuke Kamiki of Howl's Moving Castle. They'll be playing the roles of Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi, respectively.

Bakuman live-action movie hits Japan theater on October 3 while the manga's 2 new prequel chapters will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 21.
