Ed Sheeran has splurged on a £9million mansion in North London, a place heavily sought after by the likes of Kim Kardashian and husband, Kanye West. The four-bedroom house, a factory conversion, reportedly features a music studio and a large wine cellar capable of holding more than 1,000 bottles.
Before he became famous in the music industry, the British crooner revealed that he was homeless for two-and-a-half years, he slept rough on London Underground Tubes and outside Buckingham Palace. Now, the 24-year-old singer is set to become neighbors with some of the capital's elite, according to The Sun Newspaper.
"Ed had to pay big money for the house but it'll be worth it," a source told the publication. "He will be neighbours with some real high movers in business, sport and celebrity, which just shows how far he's come."
The source added, ''The house will be the ultimate party pad but also a place of work.''
The lavish new mansion is very different from what Sheeran has been used to. As he previously revealed that he was homeless for a long period of time before he became famous. Last year, the "Thinking Out Loud" hit maker confessed that he had a rough life after he graduated from college in 2007.
"There was an arch outside Buckingham palace that has a heating duct and I spent a couple of nights there...I didn't have anywhere to live for much of 2008 and the whole of 2009 and 2010, but somehow I made it work," Sheeran stated in his new book, 'A Visual Journey,' as per Her.ie.
The 'Don't' singer revealed he spent two and a half years sleeping on London Underground trains or sofa surfing in friends' homes.
After he relocated to Los Angeles, things have changed after he caught the attention of Jamie Foxx, who gave him a space to stay and free recording space. He has since released successful albums and won numerous awards. As per Celebrity Net Worth, Ed Sheeran's net worth stands at $35 million.
