Nawzad Othman, former CEO of global engineering firm, Otak Inc, launched a new international real estate investment firm, The Othman Group, Wednesday, Feb 20, 2013 in Portland, Oregon. The new company will primarily meet the needs of clients from the Middle East and the Pacific Northwest.
The Othman Group plans to strategically position itself by working towards business, investments and community development in the regions. It will extensively work with its associates located in Iraq, Abu Dhabi, Erbil, and the U.A.E. from its headquarters in Portland, according to their press statement.
The basic focus of Othman group is to help the U.S. real estate investment firms to enter into the markets of the Middle East and the Pacific Northwest region and vice versa. The company will also assist public agencies and provide financial and business advice to these firms.

The Othman Group has also formed a separate affiliate called, EB5 MENA LLC, which will help clients raise capital with an Investor Green Card Program. The Investor Green card Program/ EB-5 Investor Visa Program allows foreign businessmen to invest in the U.S. economy which in turn gives the investors permanent residency (green card) in the country.
Othman was the CEO and co-founder of Otak. He is greatly respected for his philanthropy and support towards education.
Othman founded Otak in 1981,which has now grown to be a multidisciplinary design firm. After partnering with Hanmi Global Co. Ltd, a Korean construction and project management firm for 30 years, Othman sold Otak to Hanmi for around $55.6 million.
The current CEO of Otak is R. Ryc Nicholas Loope. He recently announced that the company will be moving to downtown Portland from its current headquarters in Lake Oswego, reports Business Journal.
