Anime News Network reports that Bandai Namco Entertainment has informed the attendees of the Tokyo Game Show 2015 that the 4th game series of "Sword Art Line" is in the works. The company says that this new video game follows the three game series of SAO namely: "Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment," "Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment," and "Sword Art Online: Lost Song games."
Niche Gamer says that the title of the game is "Sword Art Line IV," however, other details will soon be announced during the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival on October 4.
On a different note, Anime News Network reports further about the 3rd SAO game, "Sword Art Online: Lost Song." Fans have been updated that the "Accel World character Kuroyukihime was added as a playable" in the SAO 3rd series. This news was first reported last May, but the character has not been playable until the recent announcement at TGS 2015.
In addition, "Sword Art Online: Lost Song" will soon be available in Europe on November 13, and North America on November 15 for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita only. This game has been released for PS3 and PS Vita in the Japanese market last March 26. As for the SAO 2nd series, it has a remake entitled "Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment," and has been released for PS4 in North America last July 28, and has been recently available last month for Europe, Australian, and Middle East. The older version of SAO 2nd series 2014 has been playable for PS Vita only.
Speaking of the previous series of SAO, Destructoid states that the 3rd arc of SAO (Lost Song) is rather enjoyable as compared to Hollow Fragment (2nd Arc). However, the online magazine says that while playing at the demo session during the TGS, the game looks familiar (like almost a copy paste from its predecessor) from the presentation down to the simplistic combo system. The only difference is the "few minor enhancements along the way that Sword Art fans will recognize after digging in a bit, like the addition of a three-party group, and most notably, flying."
So while waiting for the 4th arc of Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online video game, fans can look forward to the upcoming release of the "Game Director's Edition" which is slated on November 19 in Japan for the PS4 console. According to the company, this edition is a collection of the "Hollow Fragment" remake game and "Lost Song." It also comes with "product codes for downloadable costumes for both games."
