Popular country music band "Rascal Flatts" bassist, Jay DeMarcus, has put his Nashville residence on the open listing market with an asking price of $1.5 million. DeMarcus and wife Allison purchased the property back in 2005 for $1.9 million.

The DeMarcus couple had earlier listed the home in 2008 with a higher price tag of $2.9 million. However, due to the dwindling real estate conditions, the home never sold. Since then, the residence underwent many re-listings to now arrive at the current offer price, reports Real Estalker.

According to the listing records, the residence is spread across an area of 8,854 square feet and has five bedrooms and five full and two half bathrooms.

A private gated driveway that has a motor court and a three car garage adjacent to it leads up to the entrance of the home. The home features hardwood and marble flooring in all its rooms. Huge front doors open into a spacious living room that has a sweeping staircase opening up to the upper floor. Large windows and a cozy fireplace make up the living room. A family room, formal dining room and two additional powder rooms are the added attractions.

The kitchen is an ultra modern place with custom built cabinetry. A media lounge, spa and recording studio are some of its other features. Outside, the home has a cool swimming pool and a vast expanse of greens.

The DeMarcus couple currently lives in an 11,000 square feet mansion in Nashville that they purchased in 2007. The area is a star studded place with celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift owning homes there.

Jay and Allison welcomed a baby boy in 2012.  They already have a daughter, Madeline Leigh.

Rascal Flatts is currently touring the nation. Their next concert will be held Thursday, Feb. 28 in Topeka, Kansas. The band was nominated in the category of "Favorite Country Artist" in 2011 at the People's Choice Awards. More recently in 2012, the band won a star on the prestigious Hollywood "Walk of Fame".
