"NCIS: New Orleans'' is set to premiere with a new character and a heartbreaking look at the past. The popular TV franchise promises to dig deep the backstories of the characters when it returns for season two. Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) has backstories to be explored, which means that in the next season, she and everybody will get to see her mother, played by Annie Potts.

According to Ecumenical News, Annie Potts won't debut in the pilot episode of season two but instead she will be seen in a later episode where she brings out Agent Meredith's long-buried emotions about her twin sister's death. In the initial two episodes, Meredith will be seen with a brand new hairdo which is definitely more stylish than her long hair from last season. Zoe McLellan is hoping for more dates for her characters. McLellan might get her wish when a young gentleman will be calling her in one of the earlier episodes.

The actress has another wish for her "NCIS" agent character to have a rendezvous with ex-fiancé, James Lathom (Luke Mably). She wants to see more scenes of their unconventional relationship. McLellan adds that being tied to their jobs and loving each other is something that viewers can enjoy.

In "NCIS: New Orleans'' Season 2, Zoe McLellan will be excited to explore her relationship with Annie Potts who will play the role as her mother. According to TV Guide magazine, Potts's first appearance in an episode later this season and her visit will stir up emotions concerning the death of Brody's twin sister.

Headlines and Globe News reported that Meredith Brody will join the new season with a new "sassy hairdo,'' and is looking forward to more romance this season. Brody also hopes that the writers will bring back her ex-fiancé James Lathom and possibly rekindle their relationship anew.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season two will premiere in CBS on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 9 p.m.
