Harvey Levin, the co-founder, producer and managing editor of popular entertainment website, TMZ, has listed his Hollywood Hills west home for $5.3 million. The home is located in the prime area of Sunset Strip, which he purchased back in 1998 for around $950,000.
The double story residence is a Spanish-style home measuring around 3000 square feet that sits on a gated and fenced 0.31 acre lot. Comprising of three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the place has marble, tiled and wooden flooring with French doors and windows, reports Los Angeles Times.
A bright entrance hall opens into a narrow loggia through the French doors. The loggia leads to a sunken living room that features a masculine stone fireplace. The home also has a formal dining room, family room and a modern kitchen that has a central breakfast island. The lounge/den has a separate backside terrace as well.
The master suite lies on the second floor. The huge bedroom has massive walk-in closets and an attached luxury bath as well. The master suite also has a Juliet balcony. Other features include, a modern office space with built-in cabinetry and a laundry room. A basement level storage space and a three car garage are also a part of the property, reports Real Estalker.
Levin added his boyfriend, Andy Mauer's name to the deed soon after he purchased the house. The gay couple also owns an 1,800 square feet beach-front condo in Marina Del Rey, California, which they purchased together in 2003.
At a fundraising event for the National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association (NLGJA), Levin revealed how terrified he was that somebody in the television and showbiz industry would find out about his sexual orientation. He was so worried that he had gotten agoraphobic.
"I think a lot of people build it up in their heads and they need people to see that it's not a big deal," he said of his sexuality. "I think it's important for people to see that you can survive and thrive and do well and prosper and there are no recriminations for the most part - although there are in some cases, Levin said at the event.
However, he overcame the fears and now leads a steady professional and personal life.
