The "Frequency" actor, Dennis Quaid, is buying a home for his soon to be ex-wife, Kimberly Buffington and their twin children.

According to TMZ, Quaid  purchased a home in Pacific Palisades worth $3.1 million from CNS president of distribution, John Nogawski. The deed of the house states both Quaid and Kimberley as the owners of the home.

Details of the home are not available yet. The area in which the home is located is an affluent celeb studded neighborhood with neighbors like Steven Spielberg, Bill Cosby and Tom Hanks.

After being married for six years, Quaid and Kimberly have called off the marriage. Kimberly filed for divorce in September 2012. She also demanded attorney's fees and spousal support. The home might be a part of the divorce deal.

According to the divorce decree, Kimberley and the two kids can exclusively occupy the Palisades house until the children turn 18. However, the settlement allows Kimberly to conditionally stay even longer, reports TMZ.

When Kimberly filed for divorce, she said:

"The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities ... that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

However, this is not the first divorce for Quaid. Quaid first married actress P.J Soles whom he met on the sets of "Our Winning Season". They divorced in 1983. He was also engaged to Lea Thompson of the "Jaws 3D" fame, which they called off in three years.

He later married Meg Ryan on Valentine's Day in 1991and separated in 2000 amid rumors of Ryan's steamy affair with actor, Russell Crowe.

Regardless of his erratic personal life, Quaid has made a niche for himself. He is perhaps best known for his movies like "Legion", "Soul Surfer", "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Dragon Heart". He has won two golden globe awards and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

He currently appears in the TV drama series "Vegas" where he plays Sheriff of Las Vegas city.
