A new report has surfaced on Thursday saying that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be released in early 2017. The news comes after an email from online retailer Amazon was leaked. The content of the email details the game's new release date which is said to be January 2, 2017, a report from Master Herald said.
According to the report, the user has shared the details of the email he received from Amazon. The user reportedly made a follow-up inquiry about the status of his pre-ordered game.
It was said that the company received the user's pre-order email on January 25, as evidenced by a reference number stated in the email. In the said e-mail, the company informed the user about the game's new schedule because the publisher has reportedly changed the official release date of the game. Stated on the bottom part of the e-mail is the game's estimated arrival date, which is January 2, 2017.
"We'll make every effort to get the delayed item(s) to you as soon as possible. If there are other items in your order, they'll be shipped according to the delivery estimates listed in the order details in Your Account," reads a dispositive portion of the email as posted on the Nerdopotamus website, showing the game's leaked release date.
However, Segment Next reports that the game's official listing in the Amazon website is December 31, 2016. It was noted that Square Enix has yet to issue an official statement about the recent rumor. Avid fans and die-hard gamers are advised to take the rumor with a "grain of salt."
"Don't be overwhelmed with joy. Retailers have been known to accidentally misinform consumers about release dates forever. Although the news is welcome, we'll wait for Square Enix to publicly announce the official release date for Kingdom Hearts III," the report said.
